To record your trip accurately, Apple OS requires you to allow location in two places:

1. System Settings > Privacy & Security> Location Services

Location Services enables information from cellular, Wi-Fi, and Global Positioning System (GPS) networks to determine your location.

When you first start the ESR app, you'll get a pop-up alert with the following message:

"EatSleepRIDE" Would Like to Use Your Current Location. Select OK.

You can set Location Services On or Off at Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Change the location services to 'Always' for the ESR app to determine your location even if the ESR app is backgrounded.

Note: CRASHLIGHT® is always looking for crash conditions and uses Location Services to pinpoint your location. To use CRASHLIGHT® you must enable Location Services on your device.

2. System Settings > General > Background App Refresh

Background App Refresh was a new feature implemented in iOS 7. This feature allows your location sharing when the app is in the background.

For example, when you're recording your ride and you pick up a phone call, play music, or switch between apps, your location will update correctly and your recording will not be interrupted.

Note: CrashLight® is always looking for crash conditions and must run in the background. To use CrashLight® you must enable Background App Refresh on your device.

Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and make sure it's set to ON and showing green for ESR.
